EXPO CITY DUBAI (EXPO 2020) – WHAT'S NEXT?

On April 1, 2022, the World Expo in Dubai closed its doors.

🌐 For 182 days of work, this mega-event welcomed more than 24M people from 178 countries, with over 1M visitors only on the last 3 days.

The exhibition ended with a ceremony with the participation of world stars and fireworks.

EXPO RESULTS

✓ 30% of all visits were foreigners, and 49% repeated visits.

✓ 18% of all visitors were children. And the oldest visitor was 98 years old.

✓ The exhibition was visited online more than 200M times.

✓ The most popular pavilions were: India, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Great Britain, Russia, France, and the USA.

✓ It was planned that Expo will be visited by 25 mln people. It has almost reached its stated goals despite the impact of Covid-19.

EXPO & BUSINESS

76% of companies in Dubai recorded business growth during the Expo. 1,500 bilateral meetings were held and 73% of companies entered into new partnerships.

As part of the Expo, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized 98 events with 25,000 participants from 130 countries.

DISTRICT 2020 – 15 MINUTES CITY

The history of the Expo does not end with the closing of the exhibition, its legacy will remain in District 2020.

🚲 It will be the first "15 Minutes City" in the UAE. Everything you need for life and work will be available within 15 minutes by foot, bike, or electric scooter.

This eco-friendly, smart, "human-centric" city will use up to 80% of the Expo's infrastructure, including LEED Gold and Platinum-certified buildings.
